Tarot Tuesday for August 14th 2018

Hello and welcome to another of my weekly Tarot Tuesday posts! Remember (because after weeks of mentioning it, I’m sure you’re all aware by now…lol) there’s a wicked amazing Tarot community on Steemit. To learn more, check out the intro post for the @steemittarot account (created to curate all the cartomancy offerings in the community) at the link below.

Introducing the Steemit Tarot community!

And speaking of offerings, it’s time for mine!

Welcome to another free reading for Tarot Tuesday!

A little behind the scenes tidbit, for those who’ve asked how I put this reading together each week –

I use my very old & extremely well-loved Universal Waite Smith Tarot Deck to draw the cards. Then, because the cards are definitely not ready for their closeup, I photograph the cards using my stand-in Radiant Deck. Oh, and yes – it’s a new picture of the back of the cards every week.

This is how the reading works – pick a card that you are drawn to (and if more than one strikes your fancy, go ahead – pick two! In fact, I’ve had some people tell me they pick all three cards each week, and use this as a mini past/present/future reading). After that, scroll down a bit for the card reveal and my short interpretation of what to expect in the upcoming week.

Have you decided on your card or cards? Then it’s time for the big reveal!

To make sure you don’t see the reveal before you picked your card, I’ve been using one of the bazillion infographics I’ve created over the years. This is one I made during my Witchy Wednesday quoto challenge back in May 2017. I’m also sharing this separately on my Facebook page, for anyone interested.

So now it’s finally time for the big card reveal. Your message for this week is…

Could I have a drum roll, please & thank you…

This!

1. Four of Cups

Rethink your situation. You’re not happy with the way things are. In fact, you’re so focused on the things you wish you had, that you don’t see the very thing you want being offered to you. Take a step back and think about how you’re viewing the situation – stop sulking about what could have been, or what you might have had, and start appreciating what is, and the blessings you might not even recognize. And while this applies to all situations in your life, not just romantic ones, I think Survivor sums it up nicely with, “I was living for a dream, loving for a moment. Taking on the world, that was just my style. Now I look into your eyes, I can see forever. The search is over, you were with me all the while.

2. The Moon

Something mystical this way comes. You know the craziness that arrives with the full moon? You’re about to get your own personal full moon-itis. You’ll find yourself saying many times over, “What the absolute *insert profanity of choice* is going on?” But like a roller coaster ride (which is what your life will feel like for a short time), you have the option to squeeze your eyes shut, hang on to the handrail, and scream the whole time, or toss your arms up in the air like you just don’t care (after making sure your seat belt is fastened), hoot & holler, and enjoy the hell out of it. Your creative juices are also in high gear, so go for the gusto and make your dreams come true!

2. Queen of Swords

Cold hard truth. You’re getting caught up in emotions and speculation, so it’s no wonder you can’t make a decision. Sometimes you need to take a step back to gain some perspective. Try the “just the facts ma’am” approach – look at the situation from a practical, factual point of view, and see if the answer, as unappealing as it might be, appears. When this card shows up, I ask myself, “WWSD (what would Scully do?)” and remind myself that “Sometimes looking for extreme possibilities makes you blind to the probable explanation right in front of you.
