Tarot Tuesday reading for the week of January 7th 2020

Welcome to another one of my Tarot Tuesday card readings and the first one for 2020! I started posting these free readings monthly back in late 2015, then switched to every week in early 2016. They’ve been by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today’s reading is for the week of January 7th 2020.

And can you believe the first week of the new year is already over? So far, 2020 has been just as… interesting… as 2019 (as evidenced by my lack of posting), but I’m sensing a change in the air. For example earlier today our furnace/hot water heater made a screeching noise and suddenly decided it needed a vacation from working. After losing my mind for a few hours a couple minutes, hubby & I went into action. Long story short (too late…lol), the repair guys showed up ten minutes after we called, and miraculously figured out a way to convince it to work again. So instead of trying to make it through the 27F/-3C night with a couple of space heaters, we’re enjoying a nice warm home with hot water in the tap. It was a great reminder to appreciate how lucky we are to have those things, and that energy is better spent finding solutions rather than whining and crying stressing out. 😊

Now let’s get on with this first Tarot reading of the new year (although technically the last one covered this first week). Since I do mine are a little different than some other readers on other social media (though it’s definitely not my original idea – in fact, I was inspired by a couple other WordPress bloggers), here’s a quick rundown on how this works…

First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three!

When you’ve decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.

Also, don’t be worried if you don’t happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊

I should also mention…

Here are the backs of the cards (it’s a brand new picture every week). Take a moment to clear your mind, center yourself, and focus. When you’re ready, take a look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. After that, scroll down to the bottom of my post for your message.

Next, to make sure you don’t see the picture of the front of the cards before you’ve made your choice, I’m adding a graphic here as a sort of a spacer/spoiler prevention. Since this Friday is the first full moon of the year, I decided to create an infographic for the Full Wolf Moon & Lunar Eclipse in Cancer, using a photo I took last year

Finally, it’s now time for the big reveal! Here are the fronts of the cards…

…and the messages for each card are…

1. Eight of Cups

A new journey. Change can be scary. But sometimes you need to just walk away from it all, and start down a different path. Time to get out of your comfort zone, and follow your gut instinct that there’s something better and more fulfilling out there. This can also mean that you feel you’ve given something (like a job, relationship, or creative endeavor) everything you’ve got, and you haven’t gotten anything in return. It’s okay to say, enough’s enough, leave it behind, and look for something new that speaks to your soul. As Brent Smith from Shinedown says, “Sometimes goodbye is a second chance.”

Tarot Tidbit: The Eight of Cups hasn’t been for just over a year and a half! The last time it was also in the first position, on June 19th, 2018.

2. Three of Wands

Expand your horizons. You’ve done the preliminary leg work, and soon you will see the fruits of your labors. However, now that you’ve taken those steps, don’t assume this is it – there could still be other opportunities out there. Take a moment to look at the bigger picture. Keep an open mind, stay aware, and be confident. It’s time to, “Take your passion/And make it happen!

Tarot Tidbit: Just like last week (only it was the King of Pentacles then), I want to say that nope, this isn’t a goof on my part – this time it’s the Three of Wands that’s back in the same spot it was last week (December 31st, 2019).

3. Page of Pentacles

Light bulb moment. You’ve had a sudden inspiration or revelation, and now you’re eager to put things in motion. Go for it! This is a great time to work on manifesting those dreams. Pay close attention to what the Page is doing in this card, though – instead of racing forward, take careful, measured steps, and remember to keep your eyes on the prize and your feet firmly planted on the ground. Set goals, learn the necessary skills, and let common sense be your guide. Slow and steady wins the race!

Tarot Tidbit: The Page of Pentacles was last seen recently as well! It popped up just a couple weeks ago, also in the third position, on December 24th, 2019.

I hope you enjoyed your message for the week of January 7th 2020! Bright blessings to you!
