Tarot Tuesday weekly reading for December 31st 2019

Happy New Year’s Eve Day and welcome to another one of my weekly Tarot Tuesday card readings and the last one for 2019! I started posting these free readings monthly back in late 2015, then switched to every week in early 2016. They’ve been by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today’s reading is for the week of December 31st 2019.

I think it’s wicked cool that I’m ending my blog posting year with a bookend to my first post of 2019, which just happened to be called, Happy New Year Tarot Tuesday – weekly reading & your card tip for the year ahead. And while I’ll spare you the details, let’s just say this last week of the year has been very… interesting… in our household, which I’m choosing to see as a sign that things are going to be spectacularly better in the coming year. There’s a saying that goes, “An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So, when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it’s going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keep aiming.” by an unknown author that for some reason springs to mind right now… 😝

At any rate, now let’s get on with this last Tarot reading of the year. Since I do mine are a little different than some other readers on other social media (though it’s definitely not my original idea – in fact, I was inspired by a couple other WordPress bloggers), here’s a quick rundown on how this works…

First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three!

When you’ve decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.

Also, don’t be worried if you don’t happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊

I should also mention…

Here are the backs of the cards (it’s a brand new picture every week). Take a moment to clear your mind, center yourself, and focus. When you’re ready, take a look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. After that, scroll down to the bottom of my post for your message.

Next, to make sure you don’t see the picture of the front of the cards before you’ve made your choice, I’m adding a graphic here as a sort of a spacer/spoiler prevention. My last post of 2018 was called, Have a Happy and Magically Witchy New Year!, and I created a quoto for it with a Neil Gaiman quote. For today I decided to update it, using a composite photo I created.

Finally, it’s now time for the big reveal! Here are the fronts of the cards…

…and the messages for each card are…

1. King of Pentacles

Tried & true will get you through . This King is more a great overseer than a leader. He can take a step back and see the big picture, and employ practical solutions to reach his goals. This is what you need to do to create your prosperity – take a calm look around, focus on quality not quantity, and soon enough you’ll be saying, “Been dreaming of this since a child/I’m on top of the world/I’ve tried to cut these corners/Try to take the easy way out/I kept on falling short of something/I coulda gave up then but/Then again I couldn’t have ’cause/I’ve traveled all this way for something.” That something is within your grasp.

Tarot Tidbit: Nope, this isn’t a goof on my part – the King of Pentacles is back in the same spot for a second week in a row! And like I said last week, in all the time I’ve been doing Tarot Tuesdays, this is now only the third time I’ve drawn it – the first time it was way way back close to two years ago on February 27th, 2018, when it was in the third position.

2. Three of Wands

Expand your horizons. You’ve done the preliminary leg work, and soon you will see the fruits of your labors. However, now that you’ve taken those steps, don’t assume this is it – there could still be other opportunities out there. Take a moment to look at the bigger picture. Keep an open mind, stay aware, and be confident. It’s time to, “Take your passion/And make it happen!

Tarot Tidbit: The Three of Wands was seen, in the first position, just a few months ago, on September 17th, 2019.

3. The Hanged Man

Let go. Sometimes when you struggle to untie a knot, the more you pull at it, the tighter it gets. You’ve been tugging at a rope (an argument, a relationship, a situation) trying to get it untangled, but it’s only making things worse. Now it’s time to surrender, at least for a little while. Decide not to decide. Let things be for now. Do as the late, great John Lennon did when he was, “just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round, I really love to watch them roll. No longer riding on the merry-go-round, I just had to let it go.” You might even find that when you stop pulling, the knot releases on its own.

Tarot Tidbit: The Hanged Man was last seen, in the first position, during this past summer on July 30th, 2019.

I hope you enjoyed your message for the week of December 31st 2019! Bright blessings to you!
