A year and a day

How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon? ~ Dr. Seuss

It’s hard to believe it’s been 366 days since my last blog post. Needless to say, there’s much catching up to be done, and I’m planning to get back in the swing of things in a big bad way. Not only will I be NaNo’ing for the 8th year in a row, I’m also giving NaBloPoMo a shot.

First things first – the story in my previous entry last year has a happy, but mysterious end. On July 21, 2014, the following message was posted on the Facebook page endorsed by Abby’s mother Zenya –

“Abby is safely home with her mom and sister!! Family requests privacy right now. Thank you to everyone who has shared fliers, offered help and support. We cant thank you enough!! We will keep you all updated. THANK YOU!!! -Amanda”

On July 28, 2014, a man from Gorham, NH by the name of Nathaniel Kibby was arrested and charged with felony kidnapping for “knowingly confining Abigail Hernandez on October 9, 2013, in Conway, New Hampshire, with a purpose to commit an offense against her,” (quote from NH Attorney General Joseph Foster).

At the moment, he is still in jail, awaiting trial. The most important thing is that Abby is home, and I add my voice to the many that hope she and her family are able to heal from this ordeal.

Now I’m off to stock up on chocolate, vodka, and coffee (not necessarily in that order) to prepare for thirty days of madne… err, writing. Oh, and bright Samhain blessings, and Happy Halloween!
