MicroblogMonday – I am a Child of the Moon by Zara Ventris

I honestly have no idea if the name of this poem is, I am a Child of the Moon. In fact, when I tried to research who Zara Ventris is, my beloved Google failed me. All I was able to ascertain is almost three years ago, this and a dozen other pieces appeared on an Instagram account, and two others have been added in the past month.

That being said, when I found this image I took of January’s Full Wolf Moon, I decided to look for a quote or bit of prose to use as a caption. Discovering this poem is definitely a #GoogleWin. *grin*

UPDATE February 15, 2017 – This just happened on my Instagram post, so it looks like I got Zara’s approval. YAY! *grin*

Child of the Moon. “I am a child of the Moon being raised by the Sun in a world walked by stars and a sky drawn with flowers.” ~ Zara Ventris. First, this is not a passive voice. 1. Every bit of that is gorgeous. I can dream of that sky drawn in flowers, because right now it’s drawn with all the garden detritus I didn’t clean up before the early snow came and now it’s dark too early to get it when I get home from school. Flowers make a much nicer picture… πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks, Parul! I easily take at least 200 pictures of each full moon (weather permitting, of course), and with lots of practice and playing with the zoom, exposure, and such, I can usually get at least a few usable shots. πŸ˜€

    1. Since Zara posted semi-recently on Instagram, I tagged her (pretty sure somewhere in the posts, there’s a reference to being a she, but could just be my bias) when I shared it. And thanks, Mel!

    1. Thanks, Em. I did see the hash tag with the post, but wasn’t sure if it was also the title. I did tag Zara in my IG post, but haven’t heard anything.
