Tarot Tuesday reading for the week of August 11th 2020

Welcome to another one of my Tarot Tuesday posts! I started doing these free readings monthly back in late 2015, then switched to every week in early 2016. They’re by far my most popular posts, as well as being one of my favorites to put together. Today’s reading is for the week of August 11th 2020.

Quick shout out – thanks to everyone who follows me on Twitter for NOT unfollowing me, after an amazingly hectic but totally awesome #HiveChat last week! If you want to know what a TwitterChat is, or what kind of Hive stuff we talked about, I did a recap post yesterday that you can find HERE. Given how popular it’s become, I might not get the chance to host again for a while, but I plan to jump in every Tuesday, so don’t be surprised to see many tweets (more than usual…lol) about my crypto blogging on a regular basis.

And now with that said, it’s time to start the reading. The setup of how I do these was not my original idea – I was actually inspired by how a few other bloggers were doing their readings back years ago. And since this method is a little bit different than how some other readers on other social media do them (usually posting the card backs first, then the messages at a later time), here’s a quick breakdown on how this works…

First, pick a card you are drawn to from the photo below. If more than one speaks to you, go ahead and pick that one too. You can even pick all three, in whatever order you like!

When you’ve decided on your card (or cards), scroll down to the bottom of the page for the photo revealing the card faces, and your message for the upcoming week.

Also, don’t be worried if you don’t happen to see this exactly on Tuesday. The message will be ready and waiting for you whenever you get here. 😊

I would also like to mention…

disclaimer

Now here are the backs of the cards for this week. Take a moment to clear your mind, inhale and exhale deeply, center yourself – whatever you need to do to focus. When you’re ready, take a look at the photo and then decide which one (or ones) speaks to you. Then scroll down to the bottom of the post for the picture of the front of the cards, and your message.

Next up, as a bit of insurance policy to make sure you don’t see the picture of the front of the cards before you’ve made your choice, I’m putting some of my infographics here as a type of spacer/spoiler prevention. It occurred to me the other day that I haven’t taken any new pictures of flowers in our yard in forever. Then I remembered the glorious Dahlia bush we had for one season (don’t quite remember what our landlady said happened the following year that caused it to not bloom). So I thought that instead of using one of my witchy infographics for today, I’d go with this particular quoto using an old Dahlia picture I took, and the words of Nora Roberts (from her book, Charmed & Enchanted).

Now it’s time for the big reveal! Here are the fronts of the cards…

…and the messages for each card are…

1. Four of Wands

Celebrate your groundwork. It’s not done yet, but one of the most important steps – putting down the framework and laying the foundation – is complete. Maybe it’s a project, a relationship, or an actual home – in any case, it’s time to sit back for a bit, and celebrate this achievement. Things will only grow bigger and better from here. And keep in mind what David Brinkley said – “A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.

Tarot Tidbit: The Four of Wands was last seen, in the third position, back on Saint Patrick’s day (March 17th).

2. The Hierophant

The Mystic. When you’re in the middle of a crisis, and you feel like you’re all alone, this card is a reminder that all of your ancestors, your community, your family (blood or chosen) are still there with you, even if you can’t see or feel them. I like to think of this as the Mr. Miyagi card – someone who steps in and teaches you the knowledge you need to stop the bullies. Sometimes though, this card shows up for me when I get a little too wrapped up in the “right” and traditional way of doing something. It means I need to remember to honor the spirit of the ritual, and not sweat the details.

Tarot Tidbit: The Hierophant was last spotted, also in the second position, earlier this year on January 28th, 2020. Prior to that, it was also in the second position on October 8th, 2019.

3. The Lovers

Love. True love. You’ve found someone or something that speaks to your soul. Now comes the hard part – keeping that love going. See how (on the card) the man is looking at the woman, but she is staring at the angelic creature in the sky? He has to trust when she says she’s seeing it, and she needs to communicate what she sees. Trust and communication. If this is about your soul’s passion, you need to trust yourself and communicate with those involved. Did I mention trust and communicate? *grin*

Tarot Tidbit: The Lovers card was last spotted, in the first position, back the spring on May 12th, 2020.

I hope you enjoyed your message for the week of August 11th 2020! Bright blessings to you!

  1. I love Taro Tuesday! I picked the Hierophant this time and I’m glad I did. I need to remember that all my ancestors are behind me in my endeavors. I wish I could see them more! <3

  2. I am late to the tarot party this week. (blame the heat!), but I am really chuffed with that 4 of Wands, because I have got 4000 words of prose down for a new ‘something’ writing project!

    1. That’s wicked awesome, Bee! And I hear you on the heat – we’ve had (I believe) one of the hottest summers on record here in New Hampshire. Best of luck with your new project!
