Resolving to take a Steem-y break for January

Happy New Year!

Since this is traditionally the day for starting resolutions, I figured it was wicked perfect for one of my own.

First, a bit of backstory

I’ve been running the Ello Pagans page since October 2016, after the uber-talented Terry kindly asked me to take over. At some point over there, I bumped into Eric (aka pixelfan) who runs the Amateur Photography Ello page (another awesomely talented dude).

Flash forward to September 2017

I noticed Pixelfan had been a bit quiet, so I went over to his page to see what was up. I found a message that started, “Just a little update on my presence here.” His post talked about a cool new-ish social network called Steemit that used cryptocurrency as a reward system. Given that I view social networks as Pokemon, I went right over and signed up.

In short order, I got the confirmation email that my account was now in the approval process, and I’d get another email when it was active.

It only took about a day or so for the approval (the amount of time varies, depending on how swamped they get), and soon enough I was poking around the site, upvoting (which I thought was similar to a Facebook “like”) everything in sight. However, as many of you know from reading my whiny posts about my body updates on my mystery condition, the Fall of 2017 was a bit… distracting.

I really only started to pay attention and learn the ropes back in early December, and now that I get (mostly) how it works, I’m getting wicked psyched about the possibilities!

My resolution for January

However, since there are only so many hours in the day (and most of mine are taken up perseverating on what the absolute censored is going on with my body), what I’ve decided is this – for the month of January, I will be posting almost all of my blog content exclusively on my Steemit account. I say almost because I know how many people come here to read my Tarot Tuesday posts, and while you can read things on Steemit without signing up, I didn’t want to makes things too confusing. So, Tarot Tuesdays will be here and there. Everything else will be there.

After the month is over, I plan to write up everything I learned, and share some links (like this excellent guide by zord189) and some resources (such as the first Discord chatroom group I joined called SteemitBloggers, which is AMAZEBALLS, just like its owner Jaynie!), in case anyone wants to come join the virtual fun.

I mean, just look at the awesomeness being created!

In the meantime, if anyone’s looking for me, tell them I’ve….

Resolving to take a Steem-y break for January. First, this is not a passive voice. Next, I am writing in an active voice. Therefore, my SEO will stop telling me how to write. Furthermore, these sentences are also shorter than twenty words. Rather, stop being so controlling. Especially since most of the sentences in this post are not mine. Resolving to take a Steem-y break for January. I will keep going while until you turn green. I can’t believe this is still orange. Finally, it has turned. Success! First, this is not a passive voice.
