MM – Joyeux anniversaire de Saint-Exupéry

One hundred and fifteen years ago today, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was born. My French copy of Le Petit Prince has gone to that wicked big library in the sky, but I still have my circa 1980s copy of The Little Prince –

In the interest of keeping this post short and sweet, so I can get back to staring at my computer screen, begging the words to materialize working on my rewrite of Wrecked, here’s a picture I took last week in New Castle, paired with a quote from the birthday boy –

    1. Thanks, Lori. I hadn’t seen this quote of his before, and when I popped up in my Google search, I knew what picture I had to use with it.

  1. Yes. This is lovely. 🙂

You know, I’ve never actually ready The Little Prince. I think I need to rectify that.

    1. Thanks, thinky. 😀

It’s been far too many years since I’ve read it. I’m leaving my copy out on my desk, and hope to revisit it soon.

  2. He died on Harry Potter’s birthday. I never knew. I have my French copy of the book on the shelf next to me, but the English version is lost somewhere in the house. We’re opposites today.

    Wonderful photo!

  3. Love the quote, and the Little Prince nestled in with the lilies. Beautiful!
(PS, the reply thingie wouldn’t let me add the website, kept saying “Please add URL” although it was in there. Weird.)

    1. Thanks, Jess!

And thanks for the heads-up – I’ll check my WordPress settings and see if something went wonky. In the meantime, I edited your reply and added your website, so now it shows up when you mouse over your name. 🙂
