Witchy Wednesday – Witchy food blessing

Many moons ago (too many to count), I was looking for a Witchy food blessing (aka, dinner prayer) to use for our then Wiccan family (I use the past tense because now that the kidlets are adults/near adults, they don’t completely identify as such). I found exactly what I was looking for in the book, Wiccacraft for Families by Margie McArthur. See for yourself how well-loved that particular page is –

Nowadays, we only do this at holiday meals, but one thing hasn’t changed – it’s done holding hands, and usually one or three of us is giggling about something silly as we chant –

For the golden corn
And the apples on the tree
For the golden butter
And the honey for our tea
For fruits and nuts and berries
That grow beside the way
For birds and frogs and flowers
We thank thee every day.
Blessed be!

What are some of your favorite (witchy or non-witchy) meal time rituals?

UPDATE February 25, 2016 – I finally took a picture that I thought would work as a graphic for this blessing. Please feel free to share!
