Turkey Vulture, Chipmunks, and the Moon – Foto Friday September 8 2017

Welcome to another Foto Friday! Bit of a shameless plug before I get started – I have a small number of photos available for sale on Fine Art America (thanks to a request from a Facebook friend, who bought one of my moon shots in April 2016), and I’m slowly adding to my inventory over at Zazzle. If there’s a picture I’ve taken that you’d like to see on a particular product, feel free to shout out, and I’ll get it put together in short-ish order.

Now, on to the pictures. Since I’m still recovering from my surgery, I’m using a few non-dragonfly pictures from last week (like the waxing moon, chipmunks, and Turkey Vulture) and some from this (the full moon). As always, these were all taken with my Nikon.

    1. He definitely knew I was out there watching him. Our boy (20) took our dog outside that afternoon, and a moment later, he tapped on our bedroom window, holding Sandy (he’s a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix) in his arms. He said, “that’s a big bird” and pointed to the broken tree in the first shot. I immediately ran outside with my camera & tripod, and Mr V stayed there (about 100 feet away) for at least 15 minutes, staring at me whilst I snapped a million pictures. A minute after that first snap above, he flew towards me, banked right about 20 feet away, and perched on a closer tree branch to continue staring at me while I snapped a million more.Creepy coolness. And thanks, Cristy!

Feel free to shout out!
