Thanksgiving Throwback Thursday

On Tuesday, hubby and the eldest went down to Massachusetts to pick up my mother for a week long, Thanksgiving visit. Yesterday, we all stayed at home and watched the Nor’easter turn our yard into a winter wonderland. Just after dinner, the power went out. Shortly after, our landlords started the generator, so our heat, lights, and refrigerator all worked. Slight downside – our stove (since the power is 220, not 110) isn’t on the generator. So we happily tossed burgers and potatoes on the outdoor grill (it’s never too cold or snowy for a barbecue!), and just as we were about to eat our Thanksgiving cookout, the power kicked back on.

Thankful for so many things – our generous landlords who kept our food from spoiling and our house from freezing; wonderful, relaxing catch-up time with Nanny/Mom; plenty of food in our kitchen to choose from; and a loving, happy family to hang out with, laugh with, and enjoy our unplugged twenty-six hours with. Hope your holiday was magical as well!

Since it’s Throwback Thursday, I have some random pictures of Thanksgiving at my maternal grandparents, circa late 1960/early 1970-ish, featuring my parents, my godparents/aunt & uncle, my siblings, a baby cousin, and my Grampy (Nana was taking the pictures). Bright blessings to all!

    1. Hey Aunt Mary! You’re very welcome, but what do you mean, “weren’t”? We’re STILL a good looking group! πŸ™‚

Mom thought that might be Scott, so I’m not sure. Love to you and Uncle Bill!

    2. I can’t imagine I thought that was Scott. He wouldn’t be wearing dress and tights, must have been Jen.

    1. Yep, and Thanksgiving 2.0 yesterday was lovely as well. Hope all of your various Thanksgiving celebrations were equally as joyous!

(Thank you – I love these pictures too!)

  2. Wow, Traci! Those photos were fantastic. Thanks so much for sharing. πŸ™‚ Hope you had a very Happy Thanksgiving!

  3. I love the photos and I also love the sound of grilling things for thanks giving. BBQ is always fun, especially when it’s unexpected! Yay that you made the best of things. πŸ˜€
