Spring Sunday Sleet Shower

I wrote this post on Sunday (April 15th) for my Steemit blog, but as I mentioned that very same day here, my website was up to some shenanigans, and I couldn’t get the photos to upload.

I’m not sure if I have all the bugs de-bugged, but I was able to get this post put together finally, without completely losing my brain. And these days, that’s saying something…LOL!

So here’s my slightly-belated Sunday post. Happy Friday!

Yes, I know there are many places in the US right now dealing with much, much worse weather than a little rain and sleet. So instead of whining, pouting, and stamping my feet, I’ll simply let my pictures do the squawking… I mean, talking. 😊

These were all taken in my Durham, NH yard earlier today (April 15th, 2018). And yes, it’s still raining/sleeting this afternoon. 😒

First up, I took a short video to give you a sense of how hard it was actually raining/sleeting. It’s not so much for the visual as the audio – the sound you hear is the nastiness bouncing off the umbrella I was holding over my camera.

Now for a couple dozen shots from between 7am and noon –

Spring Sunday Sleet Shower
Ugh.
I know what Miss Dandelion is wishing for right now
Not what I expected to see blooming on this greenery.
Okay, so maybe this tree stump looks a teeny bit cool.
Mr Woodpecker doesn’t know what to make of the snow dusted bark.
At least there’s a little brightness, thanks to Mr Goldfinch.
Just moved the feeders down the hill to their summer location yesterday. So today, I threw seed down the hill, rather than attempting the slippery slope.
Even the Juncos, who are around all winter, don’t seem impressed today.
This poor juvenile Goldfinch is getting pelted with sleet, and has tailcicles to boot!
Mr. Mourning Dove is fluffing up against the cold.
While Mrs. Squirrel ignores everything, and enjoys some fresh sunflower seeds.
Mr Red-bellied Woodpecker seems to be looking for some place with less snow. Yeah, good luck with that.
Miss Song Sparrow is finding little to sing about today.
Mr. Tufted Titmouse though, is also happy about the abundance of seed I chucked down the hill.
Mrs and Mr Bluebird are as perplexed as the rest of us – WTF is this stuff on the ground in April?
Mr B landed on the ground for a closer look, but doesn’t look impressed in the slightest.
He quickly flew back up to the feeder pole, and dropped a few f-bombs in Mother Nature’s direction.
Mr Blue Jay is equally perplexed.
And disgruntled.
Hey, Mr Jay – don’t give me those sad eyes! I had nothin’ to do with this!
And yes, it’s still there on the ground. Ugh!
Silver lining – Mr Bluebird definitely pops against the dreary back drop!
Hey Mrs. Bluebird, better shake yer tail-feathers!
Not sure if she’s more annoyed with my picture taking, or my attempted humor… LOL

Spring Sunday Sleet Shower. Just wanted to let everyone know why this site looks a bit different at the moment. As some of you are aware, for months now I’ve had issues with the site going down, lagging, and other such shenanigans. Now my hosting company is suggesting that I spend more time optimizing, because the said “the amount of traffic and the elements within your site it appears that this causing the memory limits to be exceeded on your site.” For the moment, I’m stripping the site down to the bare bones, and seeing if that helps. In a Success! Finally, it has turned. Success! Spring Sunday Sleet Shower. Finally, it has turned. Success! Please pardon the mess. First, this is not a passive voice. Next, I am writing in an active voice. Therefore, my SEO will stop telling me how to write. Please pardon the mess. Furthermore, these sentences are also shorter than twenty word. Please pardon the mess. Rather, stop being so controlling. Spring Sunday Sleet Shower. I will keep going while until you turn green. I can’t believe this is still orange.
