Spoiler for my next Lumpy & Leaky update – IT’S NOT CANCER! (aka my breast cancer concern)

I’m working on a monstrously-sized update, but my focus isn’t great right now (thank you, pain killers! No, seriously – thank you). For the moment, as the title says, the spoiler for my next Lumpy & Leaky update is – IT’S NOT CANCER!

I should have the final update posted next week, once Leaky has recovered a bit more. I’m getting better every day, but let’s just say that when I had my surgical followup last Wednesday (the 6th), Dr. A got a gander at my bruised & bloodied boob and she refilled my pain med prescription without hesitation.

For now, here’s my official diagnosis –

FINAL DIAGNOSIS

Breast, right, duct excision:
– Minimally proliferative fibrocystic change without atypia
– Duct ectasia with mild periductal chronic inflammation
Negative for in situ or invasive carcinoma

At the moment, I’m bouncing between –

  1. I’m so thrilled that you got the result finally and that it isn’t cancer! But hoping the pain will ease, keep up the painkillers and rest. Xx

  2. Pain killers can be a life-saver!

Is there a treatment that will manage this for you on an ongoing basis? Or, once you’re healed up from the surgery, will things calm down to a tolerable level of garden-variety inconvenience?

  3. Great news Traci; the pain will be transient and soon you will be feeling much better on that front… might even be now as its, umm, err, a few day since you posted this.; my bad!

PMA… surgery recovery pain is better than a more sinister diagnosis. Eat chocolate and go with the happy dance πŸ™‚

  4. Oh, PHEW! I’m sorry you’re bruised and bloodied and they excised ducts (OUCH), but glad that you have an answer and glorious pain pills to help. What an amazing thing to have the ordeal of the past weeks and months finally be over without scary news! May you heal up quickly, and enjoy the sparkly lights and happy dancing.
