Quote Challenge for National Photography Month 2017 – Week 5 Results

Welcome to the final installment of my Quote Challenge for National Photography Month! This was even more fun than last year (huge thanks to Canva for making the design process so amazing), and I’m considering making this a monthly feature. For now, here are the final 7 graphics (well, until Wednesday when I wrap up the witchy version of this) –

“Finish every day and be done with it. For manners and for wise living it is a vice to remember. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. To-morrow is a new day; you shall begin it well and serenely, and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson (according to James Elliot Cabot’s Memoir of Ralph Waldo Emerson, this was something he wrote ‘To one of his daughters who was away from home, at school‘).

Wicked mega gratitude to everyone who gave me amazing words to pair with my pictures! I’m also pinning all the graphics on one of my Pinterest boards – please feel free to share them!

One last thing before you go…

*** ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT TO VOTE ***
***** Voting closes June 2nd, 2017 *****

For those who missed all my hootin’ and hollerin’, I’m over the moon right now because I’ve been nominated for one of the coveted 3rd Annual Bloggers Bash Awards! While there’s no chance I can attend the festivities in London (and given my competition, equally as doubtful I’ll have to write an acceptance speech), just the fact my humble little blog in included has me over the moon!

If anyone wants to cast a vote for me, here’s the link (I’m in the category, “Hidden Gem”) –

Thank you to everyone who nominated me, and extra thanks to all those who visit, comment, share, and encourage me over at my little corner of the interwebz!

Quote Challenge Week 5. First, this is not a passive voice. Next, I am writing in an active voice. Therefore, my SEO will stop telling me how to write. Furthermore, these sentences are also shorter than twenty words. Rather, stop being so controlling. Especially since most of the sentences in this post are not mine. I will keep going while until you turn green. Quote Challenge Week 5. I can’t believe this is still orange. Finally, it has turned. Success! First, this is not a passive voice. 1. The weather has not been very cooperative as of late (so much rain!), but hoping to get a few of some feathered friends for this Friday.

  1. Love this Traci! Thank you so much for including my suggested quote. The photo you paired it with is perfect! All of the photos are exquisite. And the quotes inspirational.

    1. I’m so glad you love it, Molly! I actually had a couple different versions (one with a picture of grass, of course) before I settled on the Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Thanks again for the great quote!

  2. I can’t believe you included my suggestion. Picture Matching is just Awesome and i love the Graphics as well. You are truly awesome. One more thing i have voted for you in the Nomination of “Hidden Gems” . I hope you win the award. Best Wishes !! πŸ™‚

    1. You’re very welcome, Mohit! So glad you liked it! I figured the square-themed background and the geometry of the leaves fit in with your love of Sudoku. And thank you so much in return for your vote – that was truly awesome of you as well!

  3. Voted!

And boy, to you make it hard to come up with a favorite. Every crop of your quotos (quotes + photos — see what I did there?) is full of winners. Still, the black and blue bird is especially eye catching.

    1. Thanks, Lori! And, omg – I LOVE quotos! I may have to steal it and make it a regular thing! I almost made the one with the Grackle (black & blue bird) the post thumbnail, but I was worried his stank eye would scare people away… *grin*

  4. I’ve never seen a black bird with a blue neck – such a darling bird! And congratulations on the nomination!! Off to vote for you!! πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks so much, Shinjini – both for the kinds words and the vote! Oh, and those birds are called Grackles – they look all black from a distance, but when they get close, you can see the iridescence blues and purples. They’re awesome!

  5. Love these! My favorites in this crop are the Ralph Waldo Emerson and the Salvador Dali. Gorgeous! Congrats on your nomination, too!

  6. May went FAR too quickly, I was going to take part but I left it too late πŸ™ What I will do is send you a quote, and if you do decide to make it a monthly feature or whatever, then you can use mine if you want to ☺

I love your work here, you really have an eye for matching the quotes with your wonderful photography. I wish you lots of luck for the blogging awards results too xx

    1. I swear it was May 1st about five seconds ago, so I completely agree Em! I’d love to have you send me a quote, so please do! Thanks so much for the kind words and the luck. *hugs*

  7. Is it too early to look forward to next May? I loved every one of these and wish I had them on a calendar! I’d buy it in a minute.

    1. Thanks so much, Angela! Not sure how well the images would translate to calendar size, but I just took a peek, and they’d fit perfectly as a greeting card on Zazzle! I might just add them all to my shop – thanks so much for the idea!

  8. I know this is random, but I am intrigued by the leaves with filtered sunshine picture in the first quote. I love that picture. Just had to say πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks, Diana! Not random at all – in fact, I snapped a few more similar shots this morning. Something about the light and shadow keeps catching my eye. And thanks so much for saying – now I know I’m not alone. πŸ™‚
