Free Tarot Card Reading for the Week of April 10th, 2018

Welcome to Tarot Tuesday for the week of April 10th, 2018! My monthly free Tarot card readings were so popular, I decided to make them a weekly feature. If you want to be sure to catch the next one, you can follow my blog on WordPress or Bloglovin’, stalk my Facebook, Twitter, or other social media (all my links are in the widget on the left), or simply bookmark this site and set an alarm on your phone for Tuesdays at 8am EST.

For those wondering, I use my Universal Waite Smith Tarot Deck to draw the cards, but since it’s so well loved (I’ve owned it for a bazillion years), I then substitute my Radiant Deck for the photographs. And for the record, I take a new picture of the card backs every week – first, I do the cards face up, then flip them over and take a snap of the back. I add the numbers and such with Canva, and use the picture from the top of the post to create the blog graphic.

Also, while it probably doesn’t need to be said, I’m saying it anyway – this is for fun, and my messages should never be a substitute for your own good judgement and common sense. In fact, that applies to most things in life – if your gut tells you it’s not right, always listen.

Now, on to the reading! Pick the card (or cards) that you’re drawn to, then scroll down to the bottom of this post for the card reveal and my short interpretation of what to expect in the upcoming week.

Okay, you’ve picked your card (or cards), right?

First – a few weeks ago, it occurred to me that since there are TONS of brilliant musicians on Steemit, why not use one of the gazillion songs I fall in love with each day for my “Jeopardy Music“?

Unlike the past few weeks, I didn’t have a particular song in mind for this reading. Monday afternoon, I started browsing through the @helpie Discord channel, and two seconds later, caught an amazing recommendation from @paintingangels. Remember her and her amazing song from the March 27th reading? If you don’t, do yourself a favor, and go refresh your memory! 😊

Now that you’re done reacquainting yourself with her awesomeness, it’s time to scroll through to your message. While you do, please enjoy this entry into the Steemit open mic weekly contest (sponsored by @pfunk and @luzcypher). It’s a mind-blowing, chill-inducing cover of the sultry, jazzy Summertime song covered by a multitude of talented singers over the years, This time, it’s recreated by the incredibly talented @moccamonica!

“Summertime, and the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’ and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy’s rich and your ma is good-lookin’
So hush little baby, Don’t you cry

One of these mornings you’re gonna rise up singing
And you’ll spread your wings and you’ll take to the sky
But ’til that morning, there ain’t nothin’ can harm you
With Daddy and Mammy standin’ by

Summertime, and the livin’ is easy
Fish are jumpin’ and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy’s rich and your ma is good-lookin’
So hush little baby, Don’t you cry

One of these mornings you’re gonna rise up singing
And you’ll spread your wings and you’ll take to the sky
But ’til that morning, there ain’t nothin can harm you
With Daddy and Mammy standin’ by”

~ DuBose Heyward

Alrighty, here’s the big reveal! Your card is…

*drum roll*

This!

1. The Hermit

Time for quiet contemplation. You need solitude. Some quiet time to reflect on things without distractions. It could be as simple as 15 minutes alone in a room without electronics or interruptions. But this isn’t the time to rest or nap – this is a chance to actively listen to your inner voice and see what it’s saying to you. Try something like journaling or guided meditation, and see how loud the silence can be.

23. Knight of Pentacles

Keep your focus. You were so excited and full of energy when you took the first step on your new journey. Now you feel like you’ve lost your steam, and all you’re doing is trudging along, without getting any closer to your goal. Don’t give up hope! Stick to your plan, stay focused on the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and remember what Amelia Earhart said – “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.”

3. Six of Cups

Happier times. You’ve discovered, or rediscovered something you love. Maybe a hobby long forgotten, or a person you’re reconnecting with. You now recognize how much you care. This is the start of something beautiful and meaningful – cherish it. This may also be a reminder that if you’re in the middle of some dark times, and you’re longing for the the idyllic days in your past, stop wasting your energy wishing for what’s gone. Don’t look back – focus instead on the positive memories, and use them to inspire new ones.

  1. I picked the six of cups and either interpretation could work. I’m meeting a friend I haven’t seen for a while (and might have feelings for) for lunch on Thursday, and I’ve been longing for the days of my past. Hmm… definitely something to think about, today!

Feel free to shout out!
