FF – I heart Foto Friday

Since I got my new camera, I’ve used every excuse in the book to post my pictures. On Monday, I discovered another wonderful justification for sharing my shots – Foto Friday! I was browsing a blog called Shail’s Nest and noticed she had articles called Foto Friday with a number (and it looks like she’s done well over a hundred of these over the years – nice!). My favorite one so far is, “Foto Friday 123: The Crow and the Lion” – two creatures near and dear to my heart.

For this first installment, I decided to choose one picture from each day of the past week, out of the gazillions I’ve taken. Since I don’t have a picture from today (yet – the day is still young), I picked two on March 8th. Oh, and there’s a couple of bonus pictures – not great quality, but a pretty cool example of how awesome my camera works, even in the least favorable conditions. Now, on to the captures –

Here’s the bonus round – the first shot was taken about 10 minutes after I woke up yesterday, through the dirty kitchen window from about 200-300 feet away. The second shot was after he flew off, but I wanted to give a general idea of how far away he was.

Almost forgot to mention – all of these were taking on Auto Mode (still haven’t played around much with the manual settings), and other than some cropping, this is how they came off the camera (meaning, I didn’t use any Instagram-y type filters, or anything). Feel free to shout out in the comment section if you have any questions about my new toy.

Happy Friday!

  1. Thank you for the mention! I think we are the same when it comes to clicking. I am still wading through pictures I took on a recent trip. Not that it has stopped me taking more on a daily basis! Lol.
These are some wonderful captures. i love the first one a lot. And the frosty moss looks like jewels! I met and clicked the black-capped chickadee during my last trip to the US. πŸ™‚

    1. You’re very welcome, Shail! Yes, “wading through” sounds about right – LOL!

Thank you very much. So glad you got to meet & “capture” a chickadee – they are quick little things, so that is quite an accomplishment. πŸ™‚

I look forward to checking out your future Foto Fridays, and I’m planning to check out more of your archives soon. Happy clicking! πŸ˜€
