Quote Challenge for National Photography Month 2017 – Week 4 Results

Welcome to my Quote Challenge Week 4 results! If you missed my post in April, this is what I decided to do for National Photography Month

Here’s my challenge, and I’ll need your help, dear readers – please leave me one of your favorite quotes in the comment section below, and I’ll pair it with a picture I’ve taken. If you’re a blogger, be sure to leave a link as well, so I can give you a shout out. If you can’t think of anything this week, no worries – I’ll post results and ask for more quotes each Monday in May.

Thank you to everyone who has provided amazing words to pair with my pictures – I love doing this! I’m also pinning all the graphics on one of my Pinterest boards – please feel free to share them! Be sure to leave your own favorite quote in the comment section, and tune in again next week to see what I came up with.

Now, on to the graphics!

From Journeywoman (check out her blog HERE) –

“When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams — this may be madness. To seek treasure where there is only trash. Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!” ~ Don Miguel de Cervantes

One last thing before you go

A dear friend suggested I add this to my posts for the next week or so. I discovered last week, much to my surprise, that I’ve been nominated for a blogging award in the 3rd Annual Bloggers Bash Awards! While there’s no chance I can attend the festivities in London (and given my competition, equally as doubtful I’ll have to write an acceptance speech), just the fact my humble little blog in included has me over the moon!

If anyone wants to cast a vote for me, here’s the link (I’m in the category, “Hidden Gem”) –

http://sachablack.co.uk/2017/05/18/2017-annual-bloggers-bash-awards-voting-open-bloggersbash-bloggersbash/

All you need to do is check off your choice, then hit the “VOTE” button – no email or photo ID needed. *grin*

Thanks to everyone who nominated me, and extra thanks to all those who visit, comment, share, and encourage me over at my little corner of the interwebz!

Read the inaugural post which explains
the idea and how you can participate too.”

Quote Challenge Week 4. First, this is not a passive voice. Next, I am writing in an active voice. Therefore, my SEO will stop telling me how to write. Furthermore, these sentences are also shorter than twenty words. Rather, stop being so controlling. Especially since most of the sentences in this post are not mine. I will keep going while until you turn green. Quote Challenge Week 4. I can’t believe this is still orange. Finally, it has turned. Success! First, this is not a passive voice. 1. Thank you, Noelle! I’m thinking about doing these once a month from now on – so the gazillion pictures on my hard drive won’t all go to waste… *grin*

  1. You can’t live a positive life with a negative mind. Unknown. I remind myself of this as I endure the stressors of teaching.
    Enjoyed your post, very moving.

  2. That quote about balancing yes for others by thinking about the ones that are no for yourself is profound. How many things do I do for others that are not in a neutral place for me?

    1. Yay! Love Erma, and I know she has special significance for you, Molly. Thanks for the great quote – can’t wait to work on it today!

  3. So lovely again!! Love the quote you made from my fave Paul Coelho, thank you! (: Also really like the creativity quote and the one about nature and patience. So good, Traci! xx

    1. Thanks so much, Linda! So glad you love it – it’s the first picture I thought of when I saw that awesome quote! Thanks again for helping out with this! 😀

  4. My favorite quote!! I look forward to seeing what quotes are going to become my new favorites more and more! Thank you for the opportunity, Traci the pictures are lovely you’ve paired them off quite well.

    xx

    1. I’m so glad you liked it – thanks again for such a great quote. I’ve had a number of people tell me how much they like yours. And you’re very welcome. 😀

  5. Hi Traci! Beautiful and inspiring as always. My favorite of this batch is the Edith Wharton quote. That’s exactly what you have done with these photo/quote pairings. You have been both candle and the one reflecting the light of others. Have an amazing day. Thank you for brightening mine!

  6. These are great! I agree with Angela. Great quote.
One that always sticks with me is “Some people feel the rain, others just get wet.” -Roger Miller (although Bob Dylan usually gets credit)

    1. Oooo, I think I have just the shot for that quote! “King of the Road” is a sentimental favorite, so I’m happy to use Roger as the source – thanks for the heads-up (and the great contribution), Gabe!

  7. Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.” – Salvador Dali I love this quote. It’s as if it gives you permission to be you, there is no such thing as the perfect version.

  8. Hi Traci,
it’s nice of you to give exposure to other bloggers this way.
My favorite quote? I just read on someone else’s blog:
Competition is the thief of joy.
This is my new favorite quote!
    My blog is MostlyBlogging.com.
Thanks Traci! Send me a link when you’re done, and I’ll share your post. Sharing this post now.

    1. Hi Janice! Excellent quote, and I’ve added it to my list for tomorrow. I’ll be sure to shout out after it’s posted – thanks for contributing!

    1. LOL! I wish (one of the many reasons I envied Hermione). More like “no time to turn to chores” (or come up with clever responses). 😀

      1. Ha, see…I knew you’d get any Potter reference My balance is bad. The chore to writing is tipped in the wrong direction

  9. What a cool idea with wonderful quotes and photos, Traci! Here is one of my favorite quotes of all-time by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” Thank you, Traci! Cher xo

Feel free to shout out!
